Well it is hard to believe that summer is
over and we are already in the middle of the
seventh week of school. Does time fly or does time
fly? My summer was filled mostly with continuing
education classes: Music and Reading, Handbells,
World Music Drumming, etc. I even spent two days
in Chattanooga at a Finale Music Notation
workshop. Overall though, I feel like I am better off
because my time was well spent. Now, I must put
all of the things I learned into practice and this of
course can be a challenging task. One of the
beauties of music though is that you never stop
learning. Day after day, year after year there is
always something new to discover. And this, more
than anything is what I try to instill in my students.
In the coming weeks and months I'll be
sharing some of my latest "musical discoveries"
with all of you. In doing so, I know I risk being
seen in a different light, but so be it. Hopefully, it
will be good for my soul!
