I have recently learned about some of the needs of
our Mountain View Personal Care Home, started in 1882 as
the "poor farm", later called the "alms house". This is sort of
an unauthorized appeal but I believe that you, too, might
want to become aware of this service we have had in DeKalb
for 116 years as well as to know about its existence and
needs.
They have many needs and maybe you and your
friends can help. It is a residence for the elderly indigent of
DeKalb and they need our help.
Here is what they need: active volunteers needed for
several functions; board members; entertainment, recreation,
crafts, accountant, marketing expert, etc. Donations of
money to supplement the income of this 501-c-3 charity are
