Lawrenceville Road United Methodist Church is a mission-oriented church family. Each year the church offers its members many opportunities to volunteer their time and their financial resources to those less fortunate. The following is a list of projects LRUMC is involved in:
Christian Children’s Fund assists children with basic living requirements. LRUMC offers financial support for five children each month.
Hands on Atlanta/One Great Day of Missions volunteer assistance.
The Angel Tree Program provides Christmas gifts to children in need each year. Their names are obtained with a "wish list" from the social worker for the DeKalb County School System.
Murphy-Harpst Children’s Centers is a program in Cedartown GA, which helps children find a turning point in their lives. LRUMC provides financial support for this program.
Camp Wesley is a children’s outdoor activity center and summer day camp.
Net Pantry is a food pantry and LRUMC offers financial support and volunteer assistance.
Atlanta Community Food Bank is supported by LRUMC with both volunteers and financial support. Volunteers sort food that will be distributed to non-profit organizations.
Genesis Shelter in Midtown Atlanta is provided with financial support by LRUMC. This project ministers to families with newborn babies, and prepares new parents to go out and get jobs. It also teaches them how to negotiate the system of living and supporting themselves and their family. A maximum of 12 families can be housed at the shelter at any one time.
